Self-driving vehicles don’t have a human at the wheel so pedestrians need confirmation they are seen. Eye contact, head nods and hand waves need replacement.

To improve mobility safety and autonomous vehicle acceptance by creating standard protocols for autonomous vehicles to communicate with pedestrians, bicyclists and other personal mobility actors through open collaboration.
